Alma Resort Names Mildred Amon as Director of Marketing Communication - TRAVELINDEXCam Ranh, Vietnam, August 8, 2023 / TRAVELINDEX / Mildred Amon, a communications veteran with three decades’ experience in the hospitality industry, has been appointed director of marketing communication at Alma.

Amon, a Filipino national, brings her extensive experience in branding, public and media relations, marketing communications and crisis communications to her new role after consulting for Robinsons Hotels & Resorts, the hospitality arm of one of the Philippines’ largest hotel companies, Robinsons Land Corporation.

Prior to that, Amon was director of marketing communications for Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort in the Philippines, and director of communications at Shangri-La properties Sule Shangri-La, Yangon, Sule Square Mall & Office and Shangri-La Serviced Apartments in Myanmar. 

She was also director of marketing communications at Discovery Primea, part of a Filipino hospitality group, Discovery Leisure Company, that owns and manages a collection of hotels and resorts in the Philippines, and the director of communications at Shangri-La Mactan Resort & Spa in Cebu. 

Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast communications at the University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City, Amon started her career in 1994 working as a VTV programming assistant and special projects assistant. She became a public relations officer for Holiday Inn Manila in 1995 before progressing to the positions of public relations manager at the Richmonde Hotel Ortigas, group organisational communications manager and group public relations manager at P.J. Lhuillier Group of Companies, and segment business manager for media and advertising at Globe Telecom.
