Savelberg, Michelin-Starred Restaurant in Bangkok Reopens
Bangkok, Thailand, May 15, 2020 / top25restaurants / Michelin-starred restaurant Savelberg has reopen on 3rd May, two months after the coronavirus shut it down. The pandemic’s stronghold has all but made it impossible for luxury restaurants to keep doing what they were doing prior to the shutdown.
Founder Henk Savelberg told Top25Restaurants that “I’m glad we could reopen our restaurant during this difficult period for restaurants and the hospitality sector in general. During the weeks of shutdown we have kept our chefs and staff on the payroll to guarantee them an income and allow for a fast reopening of the restaurant. All distancing measures have been put in place for our patrons to enjoy, in the safest possible environment, our new 6 and 8 courses dinner menus.”
He further added “I greatly appreciate the efforts of the Thai Government to mitigate the impact of the pandemic and the measures taken since May 3 for easing the restrictions.”
The customers and public response to the reopening has been overwhelming and all have expressed their support during this uncertain period and as more upscale dining destinations still opting for an all-out closure.
The 6 and 8 courses menus, with some of the restaurant signature dishes (langoustine, north sea sole, guinea fowl with truffle) that made the restaurant famous and earned Savelberg a Michelin star three years in a row, will now be offered with a 25% discount (reopening offer valid until 31st May 2020).
