Spice Market Celebrates with Bold New Look
To celebrate 36 years of purveying Bangkok’s most deliciously authentic Thai cuisine, iconic restaurant Spice Market has unveiled an eye-catching line-up of gastronomic delights. From its tropical garden surrounds in Parichart Court atrium, the restaurant marked the occasion by unveiling a new-look menu and subtle contemporary updates to its signature décor.
Spice Market first opened its door to diners in April 1983, when the hotel itself began welcoming guests. Winning a loyal clientele from the outset, the restaurant has remained a favourite with guests and locals alike.
Named by a variety of travel and entertainment publications over the years, Spice Market delivers on its name with evocative market-inspired décor and mouth-watering, spice-rich Thai recipes. Teakwood interiors, oversized spice jars and Thai textiles mirror the colours of a traditional spice market, while heady flavours of chilli, coriander and kaffir lime infuse dishes from all four regions of the kingdom.
For its 36th anniversary, Spice Market sees refreshed interiors that retain the original ambience, complete with colourful Jim Thompson fabrics, marble table tops and rich wooden furnishings. The updated look sees the addition of a new bar concept, which serves up original cocktails and Thai wines flavour-matched to each dish, alongside an extensive list of premium spirits, beers and wines from around the globe.
Cuisine by award-winning chef Warinthorn Sumrithphon keeps the focus on classic Thai recipes from across the country, including homemade curry pastes from the kitchen of renowned local food connoisseur, M.L. Thor Kridakorn. Created from the best local produce hand-picked by the chef herself, Spice Market’s menu remains faithful to the flavours that have won so many hearts, and evolves them with a dramatic new approach to plating. Featuring authentic tableware and the most vibrant of Thai spices, Chef Warinthorn’s Instagram-worthy dishes are as visually impactful as they are flavourful. Signature selections include Deep-Fried Roasted Duck with Chili Jam, Crispy Mackerel with Simmered Coconut Milk and Green Curry with Braised Beef. Set menus of stand-out dishes are also available to enjoy.
Spice Market is located on the 1st floor of Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel (BTS Ratchadamri). Open for lunch from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm (Monday – Saturday), Sunday Brunch from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm, and dinner from 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm.
